Operations Manager - Carpentry Unit

Job Description:

The Operations Manager for the Carpentry Unit is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the unit, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and effectively. This involves scheduling and assigning work to personnel, planning and developing work schedules, equipment usage schedules, priority of carpentry expenditures, and procedures for equipment maintenance.

  • Develops and implements operational plans to improve productivity and efficiency.
  • Coordinates with other departments to ensure seamless workflow and communication.
  • Monitors and controls costs associated with materials, labor, and equipment.
  • Ensures compliance with safety regulations and maintains a safe working environment.
  • Collaborates with team members to resolve issues and improve processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role or related field.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and control costs.
  • Experience with hand and power tools, including drills, chisels, sanders, saws, and nail guns.
  • Knowledge of joinery and cabinet making techniques.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
