Job Title: Principal Design Specialist

Description:

We are seeking an experienced design professional to lead our structural design team. As a Principal Design Specialist, you will be responsible for the design of heavy structures made of aluminium alloy, including conceptual design, detailed design, and analysis.

You will work closely with clients, vendors, and third parties to ensure that technical issues are addressed in a timely and effective manner. Additionally, you will collaborate with the project team to develop and implement project plans, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in structural engineering or a related field and at least 5 years of experience in structural design in the offshore/marine/civil industry. You should be technically strong and competent in structural design and analysis, with experience in international structural design codes, standards, and project specifications.

A key aspect of this role is your ability to communicate complex technical information effectively, both written and verbally. Proficiency in English is essential, as well as a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and software packages.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design of heavy structures made of aluminium alloy
  • Liaise with clients, vendors and third parties on technical issues
  • Cooperate with project team on the project planning and execution
  • Supervise/check the design drawings and material take-off
  • Perform structural analysis and prepare structural analysis report

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Degree in structural/marine/naval architecture/civil/ engineering
  • Min. 5 years experience in structural design in offshore/marine/civil industry
  • Strong technically and competent in structural design and analysis
  • Familiar with and experience in international structural design codes, standards and project specifications and structural design software packages
  • Experience in aluminium design is not required as training will be provided
  • Good written and spoken English
