Job Title: Principal Structural Specialist

The primary objective of this role is to ensure the technical integrity and compliance of all design requirements for offshore oil and gas projects.

About the Role:
  • We are seeking an experienced and skilled Principal Structural Specialist to join our team.
  • This individual will be responsible for overseeing the structural engineering aspects of project execution, ensuring that all designs meet safe and reasonable standards as accepted within the offshore oil and gas industry.

This involves coordinating with client's discipline engineering professionals, reviewing key project documentation, and preparing and reviewing topside module and hull structure drawings, layouts and specifications.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. To oversee the preparation and review of detailed calculations, analysis, and solutions to deliver safe, secure, and fully functional facilities.
  2. To interface with client's structural engineering team to resolve technical issues and provide engineering guidance to contractors as necessary.
  3. To prepare and review work progress reports, quality engineering deliverables, and to achieve safety standards as defined in project requirements.
  4. To support project planning as necessary and coordinate with class for surveys and reviews related to shipyard work.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of a Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in structural engineering or equivalent.
  • Direct experience working on FPSO projects and a minimum of 15 years' experience with oil and gas projects (fixed installations and FPSOs).
  • Significant experience working as a senior or lead structural engineer and prior work experience with medium/large sized brownfield and/or greenfield projects in the upstream oil and gas sector.
  • Skill with commonly used business software applications such MS Office, MS Project, and drafting software such as AutoCAD and simulation software such as ORCAflex.
