NIE invites suitable candidates to join the Division of Academic Computing & Information Services (ACIS) as a Senior/Business Analyst in the Digital Solutions department. This is a contract position.

Job Description

As a Senior/Business Analyst of the Digital Solutions department, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Change Management and Implementation Committee (CMIC) Facilitate monthly meetings as the secretariat, collaborating with stakeholders to develop agendas and manage change requests, ensuring thorough documentation, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement in the change management process.
  2. Business Process Improvement Proactively seek to understand the organization's direction, structure, and strategy, conducting feasibility studies and documenting findings from a technological and organizational perspective, leading business process analysis, review, improvement, or re-engineering in liaison with business users, managing functional work process/workflow and carrying out gap analysis, reviewing users' requirements with respect to evolving needs and policy changes to enhance productivity and efficiency, evaluating and analyzing information gathered from multiple sources to ensure user requests address underlying business needs and provide optimal benefits.
  3. Project Management Manage and supervise project teams in meeting deliverables and milestones on time, in scope, and within budget.
  4. Application Functional Consultancy Understand the setup and configuration options of in-house applications to map business requirements to the capabilities of the system, working with stakeholders and Analyst Programmers/System Analysts to lead the gathering of requirements, define scope of planned implementation, and develop functional specifications, identifying lower-level use cases and requirements through decomposition of functional requirements, developing use case specification and communicating requirements to Analyst Programmers/System Analysts, undertaking and managing system configuration activities, developing test plans, end-user test scenarios, and supporting documentation, planning and conducting user training and acceptance testing, preparing user guides and Standard Operating Procedures.
  5. Application Point of Contact for Operational Issues and Problem Resolution Act as liaison between business users and the technical team to analyze, investigate, troubleshoot, and solve system issues, managing day-to-day operations, including picking up service tickets and communicating with users, tracking and resolution of issues, managing change control and liaising among users, management, and technical teams to ensure smooth daily support and system change implementation.
  6. Audit Review and Compliance Ensure proper user access control with formal approval processes, conducting bi-annual reviews of user access, audit logs, and privileged accounts, maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for consistent review documentation.
Requirements
  1. A University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  2. 4+ years of relevant experience in business process analysis and design.
  3. 1-3 years of experience in IT project management.
  4. Working experience in managing Business Process Improvement projects, preferably in a product development or large-scale systems development project environment.
  5. Prior working experience in Institutions of Higher Learning with an understanding of student lifecycle processes is an added advantage.
  6. Strong analytical and system thinking skills.
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  8. Good self-motivated team player with positive attitude and flexibility in adapting to changes.
  9. Must be quality-focused and be open to peer-reviews.
  10. Ability to multi-task and work with tight deadlines and fluid requirements.
  11. Working knowledge in process maps, use cases, and workflow process analysis.
  12. Ability to understand technical systems design documentation, including data relationship and class diagrams.
