Job Title: Biomedical Technical Officer

The role of a Biomedical Technical Officer is crucial in ensuring the smooth operation of biomedical equipment in hospitals. This position requires an individual with strong technical knowledge and expertise in maintaining and repairing medical devices.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations in the hospital and provide guidance to duty technicians on biomedical equipment matters
  • Prepare biomedical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Stay updated with the latest developments in biomedical engineering through educational opportunities, technical publications, and personal networks
  • Evaluate proposed biomedical equipment by conducting tests and evaluations to ensure its safety, efficiency, and effectiveness
  • Monitor quality assurance and risk management matters, including maintenance of high standards and acceptance testing
  • Provide specialist resources for investigating difficult technical problems
  • Offer coaching and technical decision guidance to Managing Agent staff on communication skills, issue resolution, and customer services

Requirements:

  • Higher National ITE Certificate (Higher NITEC) in Engineering discipline or above
  • At least 2 years of experience in biomedical equipment maintenance and repair
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of hospital safety standards and regulatory guidelines
  • Technical knowledge and experience in preventive maintenance and breakdown maintenance for medical devices
