Building Information Modeller

About the Role:

A pivotal position in creating and managing 3D building information models (BIM) for HVAC systems. This role involves developing accurate 3D models of HVAC systems within a BIM environment.

  • Develop detailed 3D designs of HVAC systems, ensuring precise representation of ductwork, piping, and equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals to ensure the model aligns with project requirements.
  • Generate technical drawings from the BIM model for fabrication and installation of HVAC components.
  • Identify and resolve potential conflicts between different building systems within the model.
  • Maintain the BIM model and related documentation up-to-date throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Communicate with project stakeholders regarding model updates, conflict reports, and other relevant information.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design Development: Develop and maintain accurate 3D models of HVAC systems within a BIM environment.
  2. Team Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, architects, and other construction professionals.
  3. Technical Drawing Production: Generate technical drawings from the BIM model.
  4. Conflict Resolution: Identify and resolve potential conflicts between different building systems.
  5. Documentation Management: Maintain the BIM model and related documentation up-to-date.
  6. Stakeholder Communication: Communicate with project stakeholders regarding model updates.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • BIM Software Proficiency: Experience with industry-leading BIM software packages, including Autodesk Revit or similar.
  • HVAC Knowledge: Strong understanding of HVAC systems, including design principles and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
