Job Title: Green Space Guardian

This role is ideal for individuals passionate about conservation and community engagement. As a Green Space Guardian, you will be responsible for managing Jurong Lake Gardens, the national gardens in the heartlands.

The primary objective of this position is to oversee facilities management and ensure the safety and security of the garden. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading Security contractors engaged by NParks
  • Managing and responding to incidents within the garden
  • Implementing preventive maintenance regimes and corrective works for facilities and fixed assets
  • Planning and implementing periodic maintenance and replacement of on-site property and amenities
  • Checking, verifying, and updating GIS data on site
  • Conducting Table-Top and Ground Deployment Exercises with SPF and SCDF to ensure prompt emergency and evacuation responses
  • Developing a new visitor services and security contract

Apart from these responsibilities, you will be involved in a diverse range of activities, including programming and events, park surveys, trialling sustainable technologies, as well as various landscaping and biodiversity enhancement projects.

Qualifications and Skills:

To excel in this role, you will require the following qualifications and skills:

  • A background in estate or facilities management, and related disciplines
  • Prior work experience in Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Manpower deployment is beneficial
  • Experience in GIS data management, digitalisation, and understanding of GIS concepts is preferred
  • The ability to work outdoors, perform field work, and interact with people
  • Capacity to multitask and perform a diverse range of duties, including enforcement when required
  • Good interpersonal and writing skills to connect with various stakeholders
  • A willingness to work after office hours, during weekends, and public holidays
