Job Description

The role of Mechanical Design Engineer is to design and develop high-precision semiconductor equipment that meets the processing and automation needs of customers. This involves working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver complex engineering projects on time.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop mechanical components for automated equipment, ensuring they meet precise specifications and tolerances.
2. Collaborate with electrical engineers to choose drives and electrical components, and work with software engineers on interlocking logic requirements.
3. Create detailed fabrication drawings, assembly drawings, and layout drawings, using 3D solid modeling tools like Creo or Solidworks.
4. Select and size standard components available off the shelf, while considering factors such as function, reliability, and costs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To succeed in this position, you will need:
1. A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. 0-3 years experience in designing and developing automated equipment, preferably with exposure to ultra-high precision machine design and high-speed pick and place mechanism design.
3. Strong skills in 3D solid modeling, geometric tolerancing, dimensional analysis, and engineering material selection.
4. Familiarity with manufacturing process selection, structural, kinematics, and dynamic analyses, as well as FEA simulations.
5. Experience with analysis tools like FMEA and DOE is desirable.
