Optical System Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled optical system designer to drive the development of high-precision equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for optical alignment, system integration, test and characterization of high-precision equipment.
  • Define system and subsystem specifications, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
  • Document manufacturing procedures, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Provide training to manufacturing engineers and technicians, promoting knowledge sharing and expertise development.
  • Derive and manage detailed manufacturing requirements and introduction plans in the design concept phase.
  • Cover all aspects of the manufacturing introduction, including design for manufacturability, quality, tooling, training, process documentation, product structure, build process optimization and facilities requirements.
Requirements:
  • Experience in optical alignment and characterization, preferably with hands-on experience in building/testing optical inspection or metrology tools.
  • Familiarity with Python and JavaScript is a plus, as it enhances overall system design capabilities.
  • Strong diagnostic and trouble shooting skills in optics, and opto-mechanics, enabling efficient resolution of complex issues.
  • Team player with good communication skills, fostering collaboration and effective knowledge sharing within the team.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor, MSc or PhD in applied optics, applied physics or related disciplines, preferably with >5 years of working experiences.
