Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Center Infrastructure Specialist to manage our high-frequency trading operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance of our production clusters, managing on-site operations, optimizing infrastructure, and driving innovation in our state-of-the-art trading environments.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Manage day-to-day operations in our data centers.
2. Ensure seamless coordination of on-site tasks, including hardware installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
3. Maintain smooth functioning of trading infrastructure to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.

Infrastructure and Project Ownership:

• Drive infrastructure-related projects end-to-end from planning and resource allocation to implementation and post-deployment reviews.
• Lead initiatives to scale, optimize, and upgrade infrastructure in line with business and trading growth.
• Take ownership of timelines, budgets, and cross-functional coordination.

Hardware and Software Deployment:

• Oversee setup and initial installation of all hardware and software.
• Ensure systems are operational and optimized for trading performance.
• Configure servers, network devices, and storage systems to meet demanding requirements of high-frequency trading.

Health Monitoring and Reporting:

• Monitor and report on health of hardware deployed in our data centers.
• Use monitoring tools, analyze performance metrics, and provide regular status updates to relevant stakeholders.
• Identify and address potential issues before they impact trading operations.

Rack Management and Verification:

• Verify rack configurations after any changes or maintenance activities.
• Ensure proper cable management, airflow optimization, and correct labeling to maintain organized and efficient data center environment.

Inventory Management:

• Maintain accurate records of server inflow and outflow.
• Track hardware assets, manage spare parts, and ensure necessary equipment availability.
• Manage vendor relationships, including placing orders and negotiating terms.
• Avoid bottlenecks in supply chain and ensure timely delivery of hardware and services.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with software developers and system administrators to ensure smooth operations in colocations and data centers.
• Understand technical requirements of trading systems and implement necessary infrastructure.

Process Improvement and Automation:

• Identify areas for optimization and propose solutions.
• Implement automated processes to enhance efficiency and reduce manual interventions.

Capacity Planning:

• Plan for future data center capacity needs to support company's growth.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field from top-tier institution.
• 10+ years of experience in managing large-scale data center or infrastructure operations.
• Proven experience in leading cross-functional infrastructure projects.
• Strong understanding of server hardware, network equipment, and data center design principles.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools, scripting, and monitoring systems.
• Strong problem-solving skills and aptitude for understanding complex systems.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Process-oriented mindset with focus on automation.
• High level of accountability and ownership of work.
• Willingness to work extended hours or weekends as necessary.
• Ability to provide 24x7 on-call support in emergency situations.
