Procurement Specialist

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the procurement process for direct materials, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and adherence to quality standards.
  • Establish and maintain a robust supplier network through negotiation and relationship-building.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on key metrics such as cost, quality, delivery performance, and compliance, monitoring ongoing performance to align with company standards.
  • Develop, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts to ensure beneficial terms in line with regulatory and internal policies.
  • Optimize direct materials inventory to prevent shortages and overstock, collaborating with the Supply Chain team to align procurement with production needs.
  • Coordinate closely with Manufacturing, QA, QC, R&D, and Supply Chain teams to ensure procurement supports business operations and meets regulatory standards.
  • Ensure all procured materials comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and other relevant pharmaceutical regulations.
  • Manage expenses related to direct materials procurement, tracking spend and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Pursue process improvements to reduce lead times and enhance operational efficiency.
