About the Role:

This Lead Energy Market Analyst will be responsible for driving business growth in the APAC region by developing and implementing effective market strategies, engaging with clients, and delivering technical work.

The successful candidate will act as an energy markets subject matter expert, responsible for thought leadership towards customers and contributing to research, white papers, and industry events.

They will seek to understand the customers' challenges, identify solutions within our product offerings, and articulate the value proposition within the marketplace.

The role has a heavy modeling focus, requiring the candidate to heavily contribute to the building of energy market models for those regions using our flagship PLEXOS software tool.

The ideal candidate should have a good understanding of fundamental market price drivers, experience in stochastic optimization techniques, and excellent customer-facing skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert-level consultancy and technical leadership on large-scale modeling projects
  • Develop and implement best practices for energy market modeling and simulation
  • Drive innovation by contributing to research, white papers, and industry events
  • Engage with C-level executives and policymakers to advise on market strategies
  • Mentor and develop internal teams to enhance modeling and analytical capabilities
  • Influence product development to align with evolving market needs

Candidate Requirements:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional with a comprehensive knowledge of energy markets & associated economics, expertise in developing custom optimization models and methodologies, and advanced experience in scripting, automation, and system integration.

The ideal candidate should have strong interpersonal presence and skills, demonstrated ability to build rapport, excellent verbal and written communications skills, and ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.

Qualifications:

A PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field is highly desirable, as is 10+ years of experience in energy market modeling, policy analysis, and strategic consulting. Recognized thought leaders with published research or industry contributions are also highly valued.
