Job Title: Laboratory Despatch Driver

About the Job:

The role of a Laboratory Despatch Driver is crucial in providing daily laboratory despatch services to the Blood Bank, Referral Laboratories and all clinics outside the hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing scheduled and urgent trips to deliver and collect blood products and laboratory samples.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Scheduled and Urgent Trips:

    The driver will be required to perform scheduled and urgent trips to Referral Laboratories and the Blood Bank to deliver and collect blood products and laboratory samples.

  • Assisting the Hospital's Main Pharmacy:

    The driver will assist the hospital's main pharmacy with the collection of medication from other hospitals when necessary.

  • Maintaining Records:

    The driver will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all despatch activities.

  • Vehicle Maintenance:

    The driver will ensure that the despatch vehicle (van and motorcycle) is properly maintained and kept in good working condition at all times.

  • Teamwork:

    The driver will work collaboratively with team members to maintain an efficient workflow and optimise productivity.

  • Additional Duties:

    The driver will undertake to perform other duties as requested by the Laboratory Manager/Laboratory Technologist.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications:

    The successful candidate must possess a minimum PSLE qualification or higher.

  • Driving License:

    A valid Singapore Driving license Class 2 and Class 3 is essential.

  • Experience:

    Prior experience in a similar role is preferred but not necessary.

  • Responsibility and Teamwork:

    The candidate must demonstrate a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to the role and the hospital. They must also promote teamwork within the department and foster positive interdepartmental relationships.
