Principal Backend Software Architect

We are looking for an experienced Backend Software Engineer to join our team. You will be working on critical backend services that are used by Grab users to place a ride.
This role is onsite based in our Singapore office and reports to Senior Software Engineering Manager.
Critical Tasks- Collaborate with Product, Design, and Analytics teams to understand requirements, provide feedback, and define timelines.
- Work with Android, iOS, Backend, QA, and ML Engineers to design and implement scalable technical solutions.
- Write reusable, scalable, testable code, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality features.
- Review code and engineering specs, provide constructive feedback, and aim to raise the engineering bar.
- Triage, debug, mitigate, and fix complex issues. Assist on ad hoc queries from other teams.
We are looking for individuals with 6+ years of professional software development experience.
- Experience with Go programming language.
- Written extensible code for assigned tasks and picked the right abstractions that follow SOLID principles.
- Good Computer Science fundamentals in algorithms and data structures.
- Worked in high scale reliable and available backend services.
You will have opportunities to work on high throughput, real-time distributed systems using machine learning techniques.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the team's overall growth and knowledge sharing.
The Mobility team improves the core transport booking experience and works on exciting product ideas and engineering challenges.
