Operations Manager Job Overview

As a seasoned Operations Manager, you will oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of assigned vessels to ensure safe and efficient execution. Your key responsibilities will include vessel management, cargo coordination, operational guidance, and appointment of agents when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Vessel Management: Ensure seamless operations by managing vessel arrivals, departures, berthing, and unberthing activities.
  • Cargo Coordination: Coordinate cargo loading and discharging operations adhering to strict safety and quality standards.
  • Operational Guidance: Provide operational guidance and updates to the Master on cargo, port calls, routing, and other matters promoting effective decision-making.
  • Agent Appointments: Appoint agents and protective agents when necessary, ensuring compliance with regulations.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: A degree or higher qualification in a relevant field demonstrating expertise and knowledge.
  • Experience: At least 3 years of experience with Dry Bulk Carriers showcasing proficiency and adaptability.
  • Prior Experience: Prior experience in a shipowning company is preferred indicating a strong understanding of the industry.
  • Skillset: Strong skills in analysis, planning, project coordination, and time management essential for success in this role.
