About the DepartmentThe Wholesale Bank function operates a dynamic business model, providing financial services and solutions to help clients achieve their strategic business objectives. Our mission is to become the premier-provider of banking services and solutions for Asia-based commercial banking companies, large corporations, financial institutions, and multinational corporations.
Job Responsibilities- Develop and strengthen governance on all risk frameworks, policies, and controls to ensure compliance with applicable legislations, particularly in relation to anti-financial crimes.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to identify priority areas for review based on control criticality, emerging risks, and regulatory focus.
- Provide effective challenge to internal stakeholders on existing controls.
- Provide advisories and review Business Units policies and guidelines.
- Work with multiple internal stakeholders to deliver desired outcomes.
- Review and identify key emerging risks in GWB and/or industry and propose risk mitigating measures/controls.
- Ensure that potential risk issues highlighted by various Bank's risk functions are properly communicated and/or addressed within GWB.
- Work with Group Compliance and other internal risk departments to ensure coordinated activities and improved effectiveness.
- Identify and work with BU/GWB Data Analytics on risk management initiatives to increase operational efficiencies and enhance proactive risk identification.
- Support the Business Units/Support Units in risk identification, escalation, and remediation.
- Monitor the effectiveness of the Business Units/Support Units controls.
- Prepare risk management reports.
- Exercise oversight of BRCMs in overseas locations.
- Able to articulate and present to senior internal and external stakeholders, including regulators and external audit.
- Ensure that GWB is kept abreast of the latest developments on both the risk and regulatory front.
- Conduct training where necessary.
- Good degree holder in Banking, Finance, or Accounting.
- Certification in anti-financial crimes, programming, data management, and data analytics is preferred.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant work experience preferably in audit, regulatory compliance/Line 1 Risk and Control role in corporate banking/wholesale banking of a full-service bank.
- Proven and relevant experience in compliance of a financial services institution is required.
- Excellent knowledge of anti-financial crimes, MAS Notice 626 regulations, AML typologies, risk assessment, processes, and controls.
- Knowledge of local financial crime regulatory framework of South East Asia region and data analytics would be a clear advantage.
- Team player, self-driven with strong interpersonal and communication skills and able to perform well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Prior experience in stakeholder management experience.
- Resourceful, meticulous, analytical, and able to work independently with excellent verbal and report-writing skills.
- Strong project management skills.
