Building Technician

Our organization is seeking an accomplished Building Specialist to fill a crucial role within our maintenance team. This highly skilled professional will be responsible for carrying out hands-on repairs and upkeep on various building systems, conducting regular inspections, and ensuring adherence to established building codes and regulations.

  • We require the successful candidate to perform routine maintenance tasks on electrical systems, heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) systems, plumbing fixtures, carpentry tasks, painting duties, and mechanical and engineering (M&E) systems.
  • The Building Specialist will be expected to conduct thorough inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities in order to identify and address any potential issues or defects.
  • A key aspect of this role involves responding promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff in a timely and efficient manner.
  • The successful candidate will be required to ensure compliance with all relevant building codes, fire safety regulations, and health standards.
  • Maintenance tools and equipment must be kept in good working order by the Building Specialist.
  • Occasionally, the Building Specialist may be required to assist with renovation or upgrade projects.
  • Any defects or maintenance issues discovered during inspections must be reported to the Property Officer or Facilities Manager immediately.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or certification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Building Services, or related field is essential.
  • Prior experience in hotel or building maintenance would be advantageous.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks effectively.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with Fire Safety principles.
  • Knowledge of HVAC services and preventive maintenance techniques.
  • Ability to troubleshoot common issues related to water, painting, lighting, and HVAC facilities.
  • Understanding of property management principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
