This is a crucial new position envisioned within NTT Data Inc, which has been established by merging operating entities within the NTT Group to form a comprehensive global services provider offering a wide array of business and technological solutions. The overarching goal is to curate a selective portfolio aimed at key clients chosen based on their alignment with our offerings. We will deploy a top-tier go-to-market team within these clients; and we are enhancing our capabilities in enterprise architecture by creating a substantial central resource pool. The regional enterprise architects will be strategically located in specific countries but will be available for deployment across the Asia Pacific region. They will collaborate with our clients to assess their current landscape, identify challenges and aspirations, and propose tailored solutions.

The role of APAC VICE PRESIDENT – ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE is to oversee and advance the enterprise architecture community of practice within NTT Data Inc APAC. The ideal candidate will be an enterprise architect with extensive experience and a proven track record in leading a large, geographically dispersed team of senior enterprise architects. The following sections outline the key attributes expected for this role.

Key Responsibilities

The APAC VICE PRESIDENT - ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE will report directly to the Chief Revenue Officer of NTT Data Inc Asia Pacific and will be tasked with managing a team of regional enterprise architects stationed in several key countries across Asia Pacific. The primary responsibility is to respond to requests from the field for support from regional resources, comprehend the sales landscape, allocate resources for specific scenarios, and provide strategic guidance to ensure high-quality outcomes throughout the sales process.

This individual will monitor team utilization, conduct regular performance evaluations, and foster a high-performance culture within the enterprise architecture competency at NTT Data Inc Asia Pacific.

While the role focuses on managing the regional EA pool, the leader must possess a history of delivering exceptional enterprise architecture engagements. In select strategic opportunities, the leader may actively participate in delivering high-quality EA engagements.

This person must effectively manage expectations both internally and externally, particularly at the executive levels within client organizations and internally within NTT Data Inc APAC.

The APAC Vice President – Enterprise Architects must have substantial experience in the sales lifecycle activities listed below to effectively oversee a large regional team assigned to these activities upon request:

  • Account Planning – In this critical sales activity, the EA may assist the Client Manager by conducting groundwork to understand the client's enterprise-wide landscape, their challenges and goals, and identify NTT Data Inc solutions that could provide significant value.
  • Opportunity Seeding – This follows logically, where the EA may support the Client Manager in client presentations and workshops to generate awareness and interest in our portfolio offerings identified in the account plan, leading to qualified opportunities.
  • Opportunity Strategy & Execution – This requires the EA to play a pivotal role in integrating a multi-domain solution with solution and technical architects from various NTT Data Inc service divisions. The EA optimizes value and cost to align with the desired outcomes of the client, which is essential for securing deals.
  • Portfolio Ideation – EAs are ideally positioned to communicate client needs and desires to service divisions to stimulate portfolio enhancements and related value propositions powered by cutting-edge technologies. They must also be aware of competitive capabilities to benchmark our services and maintain a leading edge.
  • In-Contract Innovation Strategy – This is vital for nurturing large client bases by showcasing NTT Data Inc's ability to introduce innovation into ongoing delivery. The EA assigned to the client plays a key role in defining the innovation strategy.

It is crucial to monitor the leading indicators of activity mentioned above, as well as the lagging indicator of bookings growth attributable to the efforts and outcomes from these activities. The APAC VICE PRESIDENT - ENTERPRISE ARCHITECTURE will be accountable for bookings KPIs based on the metrics of the regional enterprise architecture team.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Proficiency in engaging senior stakeholders internally to ascertain their needs, define the scope and scale of enterprise architecture engagements, and qualify the situation.
  • Ability to identify the appropriate regional resource to assign to a sales situation, considering skills, location, and resource utilization.
  • Quality assurance of deliverables from the regional enterprise architecture team, intervening as necessary to address issues related to delays or quality.
  • Establish goals for the regional enterprise architecture team, conduct regular performance reviews, and provide guidance and enablement to build a world-class enterprise architecture practice.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with expertise in facilitating workshops at the executive level and managing negotiations and conflicts.
  • Must possess the knowledge and skills expected of regional enterprise architects, enabling effective team building and leadership by example.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technology discipline.
  • A master's degree in business management or executive management programs is preferred.
  • Over 20 years of experience in an IT service provider organization.
  • At least 10 years of experience in delivering enterprise architecture engagements.
  • Experience in various industry verticals, including manufacturing, automotive, banking, healthcare, and retail.
  • Background in IT services sales environments, with experience in qualifying opportunities and assigning resources.
  • Proven experience in managing a regionally dispersed team, including assignment, guidance, and performance review.
  • Strong verbal communication, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and solve complex problems.
  • Evidence of engaging with C-suite executives in client organizations, strategic partners, and internally.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, conflict management, and interpersonal skills.
