The role of Resident Engineer is to oversee all aspects relating to the construction project, ensuring that works are completed to a high standard and in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of the Qualified Person and be fully responsible for supervising site staff or Resident Technical Officer(s) in performing their duties on site.
  • Liaise and conduct inspections with Main Contractors Engineer/Supervisor, as well as assist QP on structural works carried out according to approved drawings.
  • Monitor progress and assist QP on structural inspection on all Structural works according to the approved drawings issued.
  • Check and monitor Structural and Architectural works according to contract drawings, specifications, approved shop drawings, and method of statements.
  • Provide standing supervision for the construction of civil and structural works in accordance to Project specifications, construction drawings, and Building Control Act and Regulations.
  • Be overall in charge of managing and controlling a team of site staff or Resident Technical Officer(s) in performing their duties on site, taking responsibility for their work and performance.

Additionally, the Resident Engineer will oversee all aspects relating to the construction of the project, including keeping and submitting records of works, materials, and equipment at the site, attending meetings, keeping minutes of meetings and discussions, and assisting in coordinating the Contractor's works with consultants and any external parties.

Requirements
  • Ability to work under the direction of the Qualified Person.
  • Experience in liaising with Main Contractors Engineer/Supervisor and conducting inspections.
  • Knowledge of structural works and inspection procedures.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Able to manage and control a team of site staff or Resident Technical Officer(s).
