Job Description:

Power Distribution and Electrical Services Manager

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the power and electrical services system to ensure safety, reliability, and availability meet all regulatory requirements.

They will oversee the operation and maintenance of equipment in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and legislative requirements. Additionally, they will plan and implement a cost-effective maintenance program to achieve operational goals for power supply availability and reliability.

The selected candidate will develop and regularly revise work instructions, participate in complex investigative tasks, identify root causes, and manage comprehensive repair works.

They will also manage non-executive staff, including participation in selection processes, handling disciplinary actions, conducting performance reviews, and involvement in staff training and development.

Liaison with external agencies on matters related to power supply systems and equipment is essential.

The Power Distribution and Electrical Services Manager will procure necessary tools, spares, and services for system operation, conduct obsolescence studies, and implement follow-up plans.

They will ensure safe work conditions and access for main line and depot maintenance activities, participate in testing and commissioning of equipment, and undertake failure review and corrective action implementation.

The successful candidate will formulate asset management plans, prepare associated budgets, and monitor asset performance. They will also supervise project initiatives and modification tasks to ensure compliance to specifications and objectives.

Requirements:
  • Possess a degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering from a recognized university or polytechnic.
  • Have at least 5 years of practical experience in power distribution and electrical services, preferably in a rail transportation environment.
