5G Core Network Specialist

The role of 5G Core Network Specialist involves working within a team to operate and maintain a test facility for 5G testing and experimentation. Key responsibilities include configuring, operating, and maintaining a telco-grade 5G Core platform and supporting infrastructure in a laboratory environment.

  • Configuring and operating the 5G Core platform and supporting infrastructure.
  • Performing technical assessments, troubleshooting, and analysis of 5G Core-related technologies and operations.
  • Assisting users to familiarize with the experimental platform, 5G Core architecture, and functionality.
  • Conducting training on 5G-related technologies using in-house testbeds as instructional platforms.
  • Presenting on 5G-related technical topics to internal audiences.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong background in 5GC architecture and Core network functions with a good understanding of 5G network architecture, protocols, and standards.
  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in operation and/or implementation of 4G/5G Core networks, preferably with Nokia/Ericsson 5GC.
  • Familiarity with IP networking/connectivity and routing/switching protocols/techniques (IPV4/IPV6, BGP, IGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc.) would be advantageous.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, an ability to be proactive and lead in a multi-stakeholder environment, and flexibility to take on tasks outside of normal job routine.
