Geotechnical Project Manager Role Overview

This senior-level role focuses on managing complex construction projects involving geotechnical expertise and experience. The successful candidate will oversee the full lifecycle of projects, combining project execution with business development responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical design and construction management, with proven experience in foundation and ERSS design, as well as ground improvement techniques.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of geotechnical-intensive industrial projects.
  • Manage main contractor activities and specialist subcontractors.
  • Supervise project scheduling, budgeting, and progress reporting.
  • Ensure construction quality and compliance with relevant codes.
  • Drive construction sequencing and logistics planning for constrained or waterfront sites.
Geotechnical Expertise:
  • Design foundation systems: bored piles, mat foundations, load-bearing raft systems.
  • Develop earth retaining and stabilizing structures (ERSS) for deep excavations.
  • Design and oversee implementation of ground improvement methods.
  • Conduct settlement and consolidation analysis.
  • Plan and implement dewatering systems for high water table environments.
Bid & Tender / Business Development:
  • Support pre-contract activities including tender proposal preparation, methodology development, and construction approach planning.
  • Participate in business development discussions and client engagement.
  • Liaise with internal estimating, planning, and BD teams to prepare competitive and technically sound bids.
Technical Coordination:
  • Collaborate with Professional Engineers (PE) and technical consultants.
  • Optimize geotechnical designs for constructability and cost efficiency.
  • Apply value engineering principles during design and construction.
  • Identify and mitigate construction and geotechnical risks early in the process.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master's a plus).
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in geotechnical design and construction management.
  • Proven experience in foundation and ERSS design, ground improvement techniques.
