Job Summary

The Executive Chef is responsible for the overall culinary direction and management of the restaurant kitchen. This includes ensuring the quality, consistency, and production of food products, as well as leading a team of cooks and kitchen staff to achieve exceptional guest satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Culinary Leadership
    • Develop and implement menus, recipes, and food preparation procedures to ensure consistency and quality.
    • Lead and manage a team of cooks and kitchen staff to achieve exceptional guest satisfaction and retention.
    • Conduct daily kitchen operations, including food preparation, plating, and presentation.
  • Food Safety and Quality
    • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations and standards.
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure food products meet Marriott International's standards.
  • Team Management
    • Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff to achieve exceptional guest satisfaction and retention.
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to kitchen staff.
  • Inventory Management
    • Manage kitchen inventory, including food, supplies, and equipment.
    • Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and minimize waste.
  • Financial Management
    • Manage kitchen budget and expenses to ensure profitability.
    • Conduct regular financial reviews to ensure kitchen operations are aligned with Marriott International's financial goals.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; 4 years of experience in the culinary industry preferred.
    • 2-year degree from an accredited culinary school or related field preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation, presentation, and safety.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, including the ability to motivate and develop a team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively with guests, staff, and management.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
