Our team seeks a skilled Senior Engineer with expertise in hull outfitting detail design to join our engineering and information technology department. This is an exciting opportunity for a mid-to-senior level professional to take on a project role and contribute to the development of structural designs that meet Class and technical specification requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop structural designs that comply with Class and technical specification requirements
- Deliver project design drawings and documents according to project plan schedule
- Review external designer's pre-contract technical specifications, general arrangement, and drawing lists
- Liaise with owners and classification societies for specific design requirement compliance, review, and approval
- Conduct technical assessments of offers made by sellers
- Communicate with suppliers and contractors for interpretation of drawings and specifications
- Prepare arrangement and detail outfitting drawings
- Update weight reports (weight and center of gravity)
- Coordinate with detail designers/production designers and check their processes and output
- Collaborate with production teams to resolve issues and visit sites if necessary
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in marine/offshore industry detail design
- Degree or diploma in relevant discipline
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Microsoft Office/Aveva
- Strong communication and analytical skills
- Mid-to-senior level experience
