About the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized individual to oversee the day-to-day operations of our kitchen. As a Kitchen Operations Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that all food preparation, cooking, and presentation meet the highest standards of quality and consistency. You will also play a key role in maintaining a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations, and managing inventory levels.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including hot meals, soups, and salads, using fresh ingredients and following established recipes.
- Supervise and coordinate the work of kitchen staff, including cooks, dishwashers, and porters, to ensure efficient and effective operation of the kitchen.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and organization in the kitchen, including equipment, utensils, and storage areas.
- Monitor and control inventory levels, ordering supplies as needed, and minimizing waste.
- Develop and implement new menu items, specials, and promotions, working closely with the head chef and management team.
- Manage kitchen expenses, including labor costs, ingredient purchases, and utility bills, to ensure budgetary compliance.
Requirements and Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a senior kitchen role, preferably in a similar establishment.
- Proven track record of successfully managing kitchen teams, improving efficiency, and reducing waste.
- Excellent culinary skills, knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation styles.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, ability to motivate and train staff.
- Basic mathematical skills, ability to manage budgets, inventory, and labor costs.
