We are seeking a highly motivated Global Trade Transaction Manager to join our team at Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation. In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily trade transactions, ensuring they are processed in a timely and accurate manner within service level agreements.

You will perform pre-processing reviews of customers' submissions, conduct documentary checks, and ensure that regulatory, bank policies, guidelines, control, and compliance requirements are strictly adhered to.

In this role, you will also complete daily reconciliation activities, prepare reports for internal stakeholders and/or customers, and liaise with clients on updating transaction statuses and addressing transaction-related queries.

You will contribute to various process improvements and other projects as allocated. To be successful in this position, you will require strong analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to manage daily operations with a high level of risk awareness, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily trade transactions to ensure they are processed accurately and within agreed service levels
  • Perform pre-processing reviews of customers' submissions to identify potential issues
  • Conduct documentary checks to ensure compliance with regulatory and bank requirements
  • Liaise with clients to update transaction statuses and address transaction-related queries
  • Prepare reports for internal stakeholders and/or customers on a regular basis

Requirements:

  • Graduate, preferably in Banking & Finance
  • Sound knowledge of UCP, ISBP, URC, ISP, URDG
  • At least 1-3 years of trade operations experience covering all imports and exports products
  • Ability to manage daily operations with strong risk awareness, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter who can work effectively in a team setting
  • Good interpersonal skills, decisive in communications
  • Resilient and flexible in challenging circumstances
