Air Traffic Management Systems Specialist

Careers@Gov is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team in the Air Traffic Management System and Surveillance Projects (ATMSSP) Section.
Key Responsibilities- Design and deliver a solution experience that meets the needs of air traffic controllers through human and digital interactions, over time, across a journey.
- Map operation/functional requirements to solution/system/technical requirements and ensure overall design, development, and implementation remains consistent with the overall architecture of the project, and its objectives and needs.
- Work closely with users to design and deliver a solution experience that meets the needs of air traffic controllers.
- Map operation/functional requirements to solution/system/technical requirements.
- Ensure compliance to CAAS and Government requirements, policies, and standards.
- Ensure risk and safety framework is adhered to and carry out risk and safety management for projects.
- Identify and mitigate risks which may impact the successful delivery of the systems.
- Manage vendors and contractors to meet the project delivery and operation needs.
- Perform procurement of the systems, including its evaluation of the proposed solutions.
- Work closely with multiple stakeholders both internal and external.
- Coordinate, liaise, support, and conduct meetings to facilitate and validate the implementation in accordance with national and international cybersecurity standards and requirements.
- Plan and manage ATM projects and ensure alignment of project to the user objectives within established scope, cost, and schedule.
- Coordinate and work with other teams to setup infrastructure, application integrations, and resolve deployment and integration issues.
- Lead and liaise with software engineers and other technical teams to resolve impediments, incidents, and issues.
- Design, manage, and execute test and quality assurance for solutions.
- Trained in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering/Computer Science and/or Information Systems Management, with preferably 8-10 years of relevant working experience in project management, business analysis, and system operation.
- Experience in project management, vendor management, incident management, problem management, and release management.
- Possesses knowledge or understanding of ATM systems' architectures and environments.
- Strong experience in managing business, IT, and senior stakeholders.
- Sound understanding of the technical aspects of systems integration in an environment with diverse technologies.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence to gain consensus from multiple stakeholders when required.
- Familiarity with Government IM8 and CCoP and ATM domain will be an added advantage.
- Good analytical skills, and able to multi-task and deliver results in a timely manner.
- Excellent technical troubleshooting skills.
- Self-driven, creative, and team-oriented person with good interpersonal and organizational skills, positive attitude, and able to work under pressure.
Your appointment designation will commensurate with your relevant work experience.
Successful candidates will be offered a 3-year contract in the first instance, and may be considered for placement on a permanent tenure or subsequent contract renewal.
