Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Assistant cum Teacher Aide to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting teachers with various duties, including monitoring and managing stock-taking of equipment and science resource materials, purchasing and preparing lab materials/resources, maintaining a catalogue of lab resources, and supporting Science enrichment programmes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and manage stock-taking of equipment and science resource materials
  • Purchase and prepare lab materials/resources to ensure experiments are carried out effectively
  • Maintain a catalogue of lab resources to support teachers in planning activities
  • Purchase posters and furniture to enhance the appearance and functionality of labs
  • Assist teachers during experiments
  • Keep a log of loaned and returned apparatus
  • Prepare apparatus and equipment for lessons
  • Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment
  • Support Science enrichment programmes and competitions, when required
Special Rooms Duties:
  • Conduct checks to ensure special rooms are in order
  • Ensure special rooms are safe for students
Administrative Duties:
  • Photocopy and collate learning worksheets for P1 to P6 classes
  • Collate and prepare materials for learning activities and examinations
  • Assist teachers with ad hoc duties as required
  • Accompany teachers on learning journeys, if needed
  • Provide administrative support to the General Office when required
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the school
Requirements:
  • Minimum GCE 'O' Level qualification
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Good communication skills to liaise with teachers, students, and stakeholders
  • Meticulous, detailed-oriented, and reliable in task execution
Contract Details:
  • Duration: 1-year contract (with option to extend for another year)
  • Working Hours: Mondays to Thursdays: 7:30am – 4:30pm (inclusive of 30-min lunch break), Fridays: 7:30am – 4:00pm (inclusive of 30-min lunch break)
  • No work on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays
