Job Title: Security Specialist - Asset Protection

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Security Specialist to join our team in asset protection. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for minimizing theft and fraud in our stores by monitoring store activity, conducting investigations, enforcing company policies, and ensuring the safety and security of customers and staff.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Surveillance Monitoring: Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV) to detect and deter theft, fraud, and other suspicious activity.
  • Store Patrols: Conduct routine patrols of the store and distribution centres, including sales floors, stockrooms, and loading docks, to prevent loss and maintain a secure environment.
  • Incident Response: Apprehend individuals engaged in shoplifting or internal theft, following company protocols and legal guidelines, and prepare detailed and accurate incident reports.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with law enforcement and other security personnel as needed to ensure effective asset protection.
  • Investigations: Assist in the investigation of employee dishonesty, policy violations, or inventory discrepancies, and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Point-of-Sale Monitoring: Monitor point-of-sale transactions to detect potential fraudulent activity and take corrective action.
  • Training and Development: Educate and support store employees in loss prevention awareness and techniques, and provide training on security procedures and policies.
  • Maintenance and Repair: Ensure all loss prevention equipment is operational and report any malfunctions, and perform regular maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Crisis Management: Respond to emergencies such as theft, medical incidents, or disturbances within the store, and maintain a visible presence in high-risk areas to deter potential loss.
  • Ad-Hoc Duties: Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by management to support the achievement of business objectives.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of [X] years of experience in security, law enforcement, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated expertise in surveillance monitoring, incident response, and investigation techniques.
