The role of an Assistant Executive Housekeeper is a vital one within the hotel industry. As a key member of the housekeeping department, this position is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and quality in all areas of the hotel.
This individual will be accountable for supervising and coordinating the daily cleaning and maintenance of public areas, including reception, lobby, corridors, and restrooms. They will also be expected to collaborate with front office, engineering, and other departments to handle guest requests, inquiries, and complaints about accommodation, service, and billing.
Additionally, the Assistant Executive Housekeeper will work closely with the engineering department to address any issues or defects in rooms and public areas promptly. This may involve conducting regular inspections of public areas and employee locker rooms, as well as coordinating with the maintenance department to establish a preventive maintenance schedule for rooms and public areas.
One of the primary responsibilities of this position is to supervise pest eradication activities with great attention to detail. This requires a high level of organization, time management, and communication skills to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
The ideal candidate for this role will have a degree or diploma in hospitality management or a related field, along with a minimum of 4 years' experience in a full-service hotel or mid-range hotel. They must also possess strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate fellow team members and provide clear guidance and instructions.
Other essential qualifications for this position include good communication skills, the ability to interact with guests, employees, and third parties in a professional manner, and a commitment to maintaining a high standard of customer service at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily cleaning and maintenance of public areas.
- Collaborate with front office, engineering, and other departments to handle guest requests and complaints.
- Work closely with the engineering department to address issues or defects in rooms and public areas.
- Conduct regular inspections of public areas and employee locker rooms.

- Regularly spot check employees' performance.
- Conduct regular training sessions to ensure personnel follow established procedures.
- Undertake additional duties assigned by the GM or Executive Housekeeper.
Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in hospitality management or related qualification.
- Minimum 4 years' experience in a full-service hotel or mid-range hotel.
- Strong leadership skills and ability to motivate fellow team members.
- Good communication skills and ability to interact with guests, employees, and third parties.
