Healthcare Support Assistant

Metta Home for the Disabled and Metta Home Day Activity Centre provide long-term residential and day care services for adults aged 18–55 with intellectual disabilities.

As a Healthcare Support Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting clients' daily living activities and maintaining a safe, clean, and caring environment.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provides support with activities of daily living by assisting with serving meals, feeding clients as necessary; assist in drying and clothing clients after bath by nursing aides, providing fresh water and nourishment between meals.
  • Engages clients in appropriate activities using available resources and materials.
  • Accompanies clients to medical/non-medical reviews when necessary.
  • Cleans/washes lavatories and shower stalls as well as laundry duties when regular cleaning/laundry staff are absent.
  • Ensures work operations are maintained by following established policies and procedures.
  • Protects organizational value by maintaining client confidentiality.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Participates in fundraising activities.
  • Assumes other non-clinical duties as assigned by superiors.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-2 years of relevant experience in healthcare or caregiving.
  • Certification in Nursing Aide or Certificate in Healthcare Attendant (preferably trained in Singapore).
  • Able to work 3 rotating shifts including weekends and public holidays.
  • Physically fit to handle daily care activities.
  • Open to learning and taking on varied responsibilities.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Hardworking, meticulous, and responsible.
  • Service-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
