Project Director - Energy Storage Systems


We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the development and implementation of energy storage projects. This key position will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization to commissioning.


Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with cross-functional teams to align project goals and objectives.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and risk assessments to ensure timely and cost-effective execution.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure compliance with project specifications.

Technical Requirements:

  • Evaluate and select suitable energy storage technologies to meet project requirements.
  • Work closely with regulatory agencies and permitting bodies to secure approvals and interconnection agreements.
  • Stay updated on advancements in battery energy storage technologies and grid integration.

Stakeholder Management:

  • Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including senior management and investors.
  • Manage external relationships with suppliers, contractors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.

Financial Management:

  • Monitor project budgets and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address technical, financial, and operational challenges.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure project success and efficiency.

Commissioning & Handover:

  • Oversee system testing, commissioning, and performance validation.
  • Ensure seamless integration of ESS with electrical grid or microgrid systems.
  • Provide training and documentation to operations and maintenance teams for long-term system performance.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in project management, preferably in renewable energy or power systems.
  • Strong understanding of energy storage technologies, grid interconnection, and power electronics.
  • Familiarity with energy market regulations and permitting processes.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver within scope, budget, and timeline.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or similar.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or similar project management certification is a plus.
