The role of a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) Operator is pivotal in the transportation and logistics sector. HGV Operators are responsible for transporting goods over long distances, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining the highest standards of safety.
Key Responsibilities:- Operate HGV vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods from one location to another.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections to ensure all necessary checks have been performed.
- Manage routes effectively, taking into account traffic conditions, road closures, and weather forecasts.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, and any issues encountered during transportation.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, supervisors, and customers regarding transportation schedules, delays, and any other relevant information.
- Class 4/5 driving license.
- Lorry Crane license.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Good understanding of transportation laws and regulations.
