Regional Compliance Leader

About the Role:

This senior leadership position oversees the implementation of compliance frameworks across Asia, ensuring alignment with global standards and local regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have deep regional expertise and a passion for governance.

  • The successful candidate will lead regional compliance risk assessments, identifying and managing risks through effective controls, training, and governance.
  • They will enhance, maintain and coordinate the compliance control environment across multiple jurisdictions, including Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, China, and others.
  • The role involves advising the business on conduct risks related to products, distribution agreements, and marketing practices.
  • The Regional Compliance Leader will prepare and present compliance reporting to local boards, governance bodies, and senior management.
  • Staying ahead of regulatory developments and industry trends across the region is also a key aspect of this role.
Requirements:

To succeed in this challenging role, you will need:

  • 10+ years of experience in financial services and regulatory compliance across Asia, ideally with a strong understanding of the insurance and more specifically travel insurance industry.
  • Familiarity with regulatory environments in key markets such as Singapore, Malaysia, China, Hong Kong and others.
  • A degree in law, business, economics, or a related field; relevant certifications are highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to deliver clear, actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations and managing cross-border compliance initiatives.
  • A collaborative mindset, high integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
