Care and Support Associate

Seeking a dedicated Care and Support Associate to provide daily support to clients in need. In this role, you will be responsible for facilitating activities of daily living (ADLs), assisting nurses or therapists with care delivery, and contributing to programme planning and implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with their daily needs, taking into consideration individual preferences and requirements.
  • Support nurses or therapists with routine care tasks, ensuring the highest quality of life for our clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to plan and implement daily programmes at the day care centre.
  • Contribute to non-clinical related tasks necessary for daily operations, maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Perform daily work duties according to established departmental standards and procedures.

Care Delivery:

  • Prepare and serve meal and tea breaks to ensure clients receive adequate nutrition and hydration.
  • Assist clients with oral feeding and personal hygiene activities, such as toileting, diaper changing, grooming, and showering.
  • Deliver NGT/PEG feeding and medication assistance as required.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, reporting any abnormalities to nursing staff.
  • Provide cognitive and behavioural monitoring and interventions, promoting a positive and respectful environment.
  • Perform simple wound care management under supervision of nursing staff.

Programme Planning and Implementation:

  • Support the implementation of organization-wide programmes, including volunteer activities and fundraising initiatives.
  • Contribute ideas and support the implementation of site-specific programmes, such as daily day care activities and community outings.

Incident Reporting:

  • Report and escalate any client or staff-related adverse incidents to management.
  • Support investigations into incidents, ensuring that lessons are learned and implemented to prevent future occurrences.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum GCE 'O' or 'N' level qualification.
  • Relevant skills certificate from a recognized institution is an advantage but not essential.
  • Working experience in a geriatric set up, long-term care, or nursing home set up is beneficial but not necessary.
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Compassionate and able to relate well with clients of diverse backgrounds.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
