Job Description

Marriott International is seeking an undergraduate student to intern in the Area Vice President and Area Director of Finance team, based in Singapore. As an intern, you will be an integral part of our team and contribute to various projects and initiatives related to hotel operations.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct market research on new and recent projects to support strategic decision-making.
  • Participate in hotel and market visits to gain a deeper understanding of our operations.
  • Create presentation decks using PowerPoint to effectively communicate project results.
  • Coordinate and collate data from various teams to support project deliverables.
  • Review and summarize financial reports to provide insights to the team.
  • Perform basic analysis using Excel and other analytical tools to inform project decisions.
  • Take the lead on projects such as capital expenditure and budget preparation.
  • Manage emails and respond in a professional and organized manner.
  • Assist the supervisor in facilitating appointments and organizing meeting schedules.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and adhere to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Requirements

  • Display strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling data.
  • Show initiative, be proactive, creative, and think outside the box.
  • Be responsible, well-organized, and systematic in dealing with assignments.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to change and aware of different cultures in the region.
  • Have a good command of English, both spoken and written, with Chinese being an added value.
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Be proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Education and Eligibility

  • Hold an undergraduate degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or Finance.
  • Be a Singaporean, Singapore Permanent Resident Holder, or hold a valid student pass or work holiday pass.
  • Be eligible for an undergraduate program in a Singapore-registered university or have a degree from a university in Singapore, Australia, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, New Zealand, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, or the United States.
  • Be prepared to commit to a six-month internship.
  • Meet Marriott's grooming standards.
