Electrical and Mechanical Installation Specialist

The role of a Mechanical and Electrical Engineer involves ensuring the quality of installations and compliance with specifications and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Progress Monitoring: The engineer must monitor site progress and ensure installation quality in line with approved shop drawings, technical submissions, and equipment/material procurement, fabrication, and delivery schedule to achieve on-time completion.
- Compliance Review: Works and products are reviewed for compliance with specifications and requirements, and recommendations are provided for selection.
- Drawing Coordination: M&E drawings are coordinated to ensure the quality production of CSDs (Combined Services Drawings) and individual service drawings.
- QA/QC Management: QA/QC inspections are conducted, RE and RTO engagements are managed, and timely clearance of QA/QC inspections is ensured to align with the construction schedule.
- Record Maintenance: Accurate and up-to-date site inspection and T&C (Testing & Commissioning) records are maintained.
- Variance Order Management: Cost data for variation orders (VO) are gathered and verified, VO works are reviewed, and recommendations are provided for VO pricing.
- Work Evaluation: Completed work and supplied materials are checked, evaluated, and confirmed for progress payment purposes, including reviewing and guiding subcontractors/NSC vendors in preparing substantiation documents.
- Safety Enforcement: Safety standards are enforced on site in compliance with IMS safe work methods.
- Coordination Meetings: Daily site coordination meetings are attended and detailed coordination with subcontractors is ensured.
- Qualifications: A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent, is required.
- Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical trades is necessary.
- Familiarity: Familiarity with local codes, regulations, and safety requirements for M&E services and building construction is essential.
