Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and musically gifted professional to develop and implement an engaging music curriculum for children aged 18 months to 6 years in a well-established preschool setting.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work effectively with colleagues, and provide a nurturing environment that fosters musical growth and exploration in young children.

This role requires delivering a comprehensive music program aligned with the centre's educational philosophy, teaching foundational music skills, planning and leading music lessons, tracking student progress, and supporting performances and school events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a structured preschool music curriculum tailored to the needs of children aged 18 months to 6 years.
  • Teach music fundamentals including singing, movement, instrumental learning, and music theory.
  • Plan, lead, and evaluate music lessons to ensure they meet the centre's educational standards.
  • Monitor and document children's musical development using assessment tools and anecdotal records.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and parents to create a positive and supportive musical environment.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications in Music Education or related field, with experience teaching music to preschool age groups.
  • Strong musicianship skills, proficient in at least two instruments, and familiarity with Suzuki Violin, Solfege, or Keyboard instruction is an asset.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and child engagement skills.
  • Able to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to the development of a holistic education program.
