We are seeking a seasoned Buyer with expertise in shoes and sports to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in growing revenue and developing relationships with key brands.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of top brands, developing and executing sales strategies, and driving growth. A high level of ownership and accountability is expected, along with a holistic business-wide perspective, identifying wins and opportunities collaboratively outside of your direct team.

Success and progression at this level require strong behavioral and operational skills, including continuous self-development such as improving people skills, job skills, understanding customer needs, and analyzing the competition.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue targets.
  • Monitor and analyze sales performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct regular brand review meetings.
  • Build and buy the most relevant range for the target customer.
  • Owning weekly trade activities within your department, including replenishment, stock swaps, RTS, etc.
  • Support contract negotiations with new brands and suppliers.
  • Stay informed about fashion and retail trends and assess their impact on trading, using market research data to spot new opportunities.
  • Conduct competitor analysis to evaluate ranges, identify opportunities, and develop strategies for brand exclusives, online layout, content, and sales initiatives.
  • Identify promotional and marketing opportunities to boost sales and create an engaging retail environment.
  • Perform in-season and end-of-season SWOT analyses and present findings to senior management.
Requirements:
  • 2-3 years of experience in retail, focusing on shoes/sports buying and merchandising, with strong exposure to retail, e-commerce, buying, and merchandising.
  • Experience with the buying cycle, seasonal planning, and management.
  • Highly analytical with a passion for Excel, reporting, and data analysis.
  • Effective communication skills with brands and internal teams.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proactive, driven, and results-oriented in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a holistic view of pros and cons.
