About the Role

  • This is a highly sought-after position for a seasoned Waste Management Executive who can lead our team in implementing initiatives to enhance safety and operational excellence within our waste-to-energy facility.

We are looking for an experienced professional with a strong background in engineering and solid waste management. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring that our Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) operates efficiently and safely, while adhering to all statutory requirements.

In this role, you will oversee the maintenance of electrical and control equipment, administer contracts for operation and maintenance services, and enforce permit-to-work systems and safe work culture. Additionally, you will assist in formulating standard operating procedures, testing/changeover programs, and participate in shift work if needed.

Your success in this position will be measured by your ability to implement effective safety protocols, improve operational efficiency, and contribute to the overall growth and development of our organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a unit of technical specialists in coordinating maintenance work between contractors and maintenance sections.
  • Implement preventive maintenance and overhaul programs for electrical and control equipment.
  • Administer contracts for operation and maintenance services.
  • Enforce permit-to-work systems and safe work culture.
  • Assist in formulating standard operating procedures and testing/changeover programs.
  • Participate in shift work as needed.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in any Engineering course or Nitec in any Engineering course.
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience.
  • Professional certification (e.g. Licensed Electrical Worker, Boiler Attendant Certificate, Workplace Safety Health Officer) is advantageous.
  • Good technical background and strong analytical skills.
  • Knowledge in solid waste management would be an advantage.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and preferably in Navisworks and Primavera P6.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Able to work in waste-to-energy facilities.
  • Able to perform rotating shift work over public holidays and weekends if necessary.
