As a Medical Billing Coordinator, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our billing processes.
Job Description:
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for someone who enjoys working with numbers and has excellent organizational skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating with doctors and clinic staff to ensure accurate billing, resolving any issues that may arise, and maintaining comprehensive records.
The key responsibilities of this role include submitting direct billing invoices to insurance companies according to policy terms and schedules, monitoring the billing cycle to ensure all claims are processed accurately, and following up with doctors and patients to obtain any missing claim forms necessary for submissions.
Additional tasks include processing incoming payments with Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and applying them to the appropriate accounts, ensuring all partial payments are processed accurately and in a timely manner, and following up with patients when credit card payments fail.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for preparing refund paperwork for approval, updating billing systems and patient records with accurate information, identifying and resolving billing discrepancies, and generating and reviewing billing reports to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you must have a minimum Diploma in any discipline and at least 2 years of relevant experience. Insurance/claims related experience is preferred, as is accounting knowledge and experience in healthcare.
The ideal candidate will possess meticulous attention to detail, good numeracy and time management skills, and be proactive, independent, and able to work with minimal supervision. Good team player and service-oriented skills are also essential.
