Art Conservation Professional

This is a unique opportunity to join our organization as an Art Conservation Professional. The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of conservation principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and leadership skills.

Job Summary:

The Art Conservation Professional will be responsible for performing thorough conservation assessment, documentation, and treatment on the National Collection in accordance with established procedures. This includes serving as a liaison officer to oversee conservation-related aspects of exhibition preparations, being involved in preventive measures, storage optimization, and providing guidance on transport, handling, and display requirements.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform thorough conservation assessment, documentation, and treatment on the National Collection.
  • Serve as liaison officer to oversee conservation-related aspects of exhibition preparations.
  • Be involved in preventive measures, storage optimization, and provide guidance on transport, handling, and display requirements.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and training for junior staff members.
  • Conduct specialized conservation research projects to enhance collection knowledge.
  • Implement effective documentation and knowledge management processes.
Requirements:
  • A Master's degree in Conservation with specialization in Easel Paintings and minimum 5-8 years of work experience.
  • Experience in providing expert advice on complex conservation treatments and managing exhibition and research projects.
  • Ability to lead, coach, and impart conservation skills effectively.
