Job Description:

We're looking for a skilled Tech Lead to oversee the development of our search infrastructure. As a Tech Lead, you will be responsible for building a strong and robust infrastructure that supports fast iteration and key feature development on TikTok Search.

  • Product Development: Support fast iterations of TikTok Search business and further enable product growth.
  • Performance & Stability: Build a fast and robust Search product by keeping optimizing system performance and improving service stability.
  • Search Engineering Infrastructure: Guarantee reasonable Search architecture governance to ensure that the overall system operates smoothly.
  • Search offline processing: Construct a high freshness multi-media index and provide a reliable offline data support for Search Engine.
  • Backend engineering team building, management and development.

As a Tech Lead, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and improve the overall search experience. You will also mentor junior engineers and contribute to the growth and development of our team.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or other relevant majors.
  • Excellent problem-analysis and -solving skills, with industry experience in building backend services for large-scale consumer-facing applications.
  • Good at coding, data structure, and basic algorithm.
  • Good team communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good understanding on how modern Search system is built or/and how modern Search product should be evolved.
  • Industry experience in building a consumer-facing Search product.
  • Experience in building a medium-size backend technical team from scratch.
