TikTok Search is rapidly scaling, and this
Tech Lead
role is pivotal in delivering a high-performance, user-focused search experience to a global audience. You’ll lead the backend architecture, ensure stability, drive feature iteration, and potentially build a new backend team from the ground up. This is an opportunity to influence the evolution of a core TikTok product with billions of potential users.
Key Responsibilities
Lead backend development for TikTok Search, supporting rapid product iteration and growth.
Ensure performance optimization and high system stability.
Drive architectural governance across search engineering systems.
Build and maintain robust offline data infrastructure and multi-media index pipelines.
Recruit, develop, and manage backend engineering talent.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
Solid coding skills and strong grasp of data structures/algorithms.
Demonstrated experience in backend development for large-scale, consumer-facing products.
Excellent problem-solving, collaboration, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong understanding of search system architecture and evolution.
Prior experience building or scaling consumer search products.
Proven ability to build and manage engineering teams from scratch.
