The dry bulk chartering manager is a critical role within our organization, responsible for the effective management and execution of vessel charters. This position requires a deep understanding of global dry bulk markets, including commodities such as coal, iron ore, grains, bauxite, and fertilizers.

Key duties and responsibilities include:

Vessel Fixing & Negotiation
  • Sourcing cargoes and matching them with suitable tonnage, either owned or chartered.
  • Negotiating and fixing dry bulk vessels on voyage, time, or contract of affreightment basis.
  • Handling pre- and post-fixture activities to ensure smooth execution.
  • Drafting, reviewing, and finalizing charter party agreements.
Dry Bulk Market Monitoring
  • Tracking global dry bulk market trends, focusing on key commodities.
  • Analyzing freight trends, vessel supply/demand, bunker prices, and port congestion.
  • Using data to provide freight forecasts and identify strategic opportunities.
Relationship Management
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with cargo owners, traders, shipowners, and chartering brokers.
  • Representing the company in chartering meetings, industry events, and networking platforms.
  • Liaising with shipbrokers to secure competitive rates and reliable tonnage.
Operational Coordination
  • Working closely with operations, legal, and finance teams to ensure proper voyage execution.
  • Resolving operational disputes or claims arising from charter parties.
  • Monitoring vessel performance and voyage profitability metrics.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Maintaining accurate records of fixtures, voyage data, and freight invoices.
  • Preparing daily, weekly, and monthly chartering reports for management.
  • Ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry standards.
