Civil Engineer Job Description

As a skilled Civil Engineer, you will be responsible for leading engineering activities and site surveys for various projects. Your expertise in conducting civil/structural engineering activities, ensuring technical assurance practices, and reviewing technical deviations will be invaluable to our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct civil/structural engineering activities and site surveys for projects from initial concept definition phase through to engineering studies, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning.
  • Ensure the incorporation and adherence of required technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental, and safety policies in work-scopes and during civil/structural engineering activities.
  • Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards, and practices.
  • Support the Engineering Department in reviewing, updating, and applying company standards and amendments to external standards.
  • Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers for timely delivery of technical services meeting project requirements.
  • Coordinate engineering designs, develop, and review multi-disciplinary workscopes for projects and other engineering activities, ensuring comprehensive and clear work-scopes.
  • Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organizations for scope compliance and liaise with them to resolve technical issues.
  • Develop, update, and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities, contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling activities, and ensure effective project delivery.
  • Conduct evaluations of technical bid packages for scope compliance.
  • Review and evaluate Contract Changes/Variations to approved guidelines and practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering, Chartered Engineer/Professional Engineer, or equivalent.
  • 10 years of relevant post-graduate experience, with 6 years related to the Oil and Gas industry.
  • Ability to identify and utilize relevant engineering standards and codes related to Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality in engineering projects within a multiple-project environment.
  • Good communication and presentation skills with fluency in English.
