A Process Technician Position for the Chemical Industry

- Perform routine equipment maintenance tasks such as strainer cleaning, filter change and topping up of lubricants. Ensure proper functionality of process equipment.
- Conduct operational checks on pumps, compressors and other machinery according to standard operating procedures or work instructions.
- Isolate piping systems for plant start-ups, shutdowns and product changes under supervision of senior personnel.
- Adjust process parameters to optimize operations with guidance from supervisors.
- Collect process samples from designated points in a safe manner.
- Work in laboratory settings performing sample testing to ensure product quality and compliance.
- Install and decommission process equipment as required.
- In case of emergencies, perform shutdown of process equipment promptly.
- Maintain the handling and blending of non-conforming products according to established quality protocols.
- Prepare equipment for maintenance tasks and ensure lockout/tagout procedures are completed.
- Mix and dilute chemicals for process use following established guidelines.
- Transfer chemicals and products between tanks based on set quality procedures.
- Participate in emergency response training and drills.
- Ensure clean and organized working conditions in assigned areas.
- Review final product and process analytical data and DCS trends.
- Familiarize yourself with and adhere to departmental safety, environmental and quality policies and guidelines.
- Contribute to improving safety, health, environment and quality programs within your team.
- NITEC or diploma in Chemical Process Technology is mandatory.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience as a process technician in the chemical industry is required.
