Process Technician in Chemical Industry

The position of Process Technician in a chemical industry is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of process units and equipment. The technician will be involved in monitoring and maintaining the processes, diagnosing and rectifying faults, and ensuring that all operations are carried out safely and efficiently.

Responsibilities:
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Carrying out checks, start-up, and shutdown operations on process equipment.
  • Isolating piping systems for plant start-up, shutdowns, product grade change, and troubleshooting operations.
  • Adjusting process parameters to optimize process operations under supervision.
  • Commissioning and decommissioning of process equipment.
  • Emergency shutdown of process equipment.
  • Proper handling and blending of non-conforming and off-spec products.
  • Preparing plant equipment for maintenance.
  • Mixing and dilution of chemicals for process operations.
  • Inter-tank transfers of chemicals and products based on established quality procedures.
Requirements:
  • NITEC or Diploma in Chemical Process Technology.
  • At least 3 years' working experience as Process Technician in a chemical industry.
