Purchasing Specialist

About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Purchasing Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective procurement of goods and services.

You will identify and source suppliers, negotiate favorable terms, manage purchase orders, and maintain strong vendor relationships. Additionally, you will handle accounts payable tasks, ensuring accurate and timely processing of invoices and payments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and source suppliers for various goods and services.
  • Evaluate quotations and negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders.
  • Track orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases and supplier information.
  • Monitor inventory levels and identify purchasing needs.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand procurement requirements.
  • Stay informed about market trends and identify potential cost-saving opportunities.
Accounts Payable:
  • Process invoices and verify their accuracy.
  • Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery receipts.
  • Prepare and process payments to vendors.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate records of accounts payable transactions.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities related to accounts payable.
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in procurement and accounts payable.
  • Strong understanding of purchasing procedures and best practices.
  • Knowledge of accounting principles and accounts payable processes.
  • Proficiency in using procurement and accounting software.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
