Procurement Specialist Role

The Procurement Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the procurement team by handling purchase orders, invoicing, and related documentation.

This individual will source new suppliers, identify potential new products, and ensure timely procurement to meet production and operational needs.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Procurement & Sourcing:
    • Process purchase orders and manage associated documentation for smooth operations.
    • Identify and evaluate new suppliers to enhance product offerings and meet business requirements.
    • Qualify new vendors and assess alternative sources to optimize procurement strategies.
    • Ensure timely procurement of goods and services to meet production and operational demands.
  • Supplier Management:
    • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance on a regular basis to drive continuous improvement.
    • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives to support business objectives.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Manage inventory levels of chemicals and general supplies to maintain optimal stock balances.
    • Prepare and submit monthly reports on procurement and inventory activities to inform business decisions.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in purchasing or inventory control roles.
  • Degree in Purchasing, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field is preferred.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as APICS or CSCP, are advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
